Camp Wabi

Mayo Clinic Health System - Camp Wabi 2019

For Kids Entering 6th-12th Grade

Are you concerned about your child's weight? Camp Wabi might be the answer.

For the ninth year, Mayo Clinic Health System and the Eau Claire YMCA are offering a summer camp experience for kids struggling with weight issues. Campers will learn basic nutrition skills, and develop a taste for exercise and other lifelong physical activities. Most importantly, Camp Wabi is about having fun and making new friends while enjoying the benefits of beautiful Camp Manitou on lower Long Lake near New Auburn.

What makes this camp special?

  • Nutritionists work with kids to help them understand the importance of eating healthy and how they can enjoy good food as much as they’ve enjoyed junk food.

  • Fitness experts are on staff helping children develop exercise plans based on their fitness levels and interests.

  • Trained counselors and behavioral health specialists meet with campers to help identify any emotional or psychological issues that are at the root of their weight problems and help them become the best version of themselves.

  • Parents take part in educational sessions so the support is there when returning home from camp.

  • No one has ever been turned away for inability to pay for camp, and scholarships are available.

Camp Dates: Sunday, August 4th through Sunday, August 11th, 2019

Ages: Kids Entering 6th - 10th Grade
