Do you have a fitness goal you would like to achieve? Join the Chippewa Falls YMCA and try out a few of the fitness classes offered daily! From Zumba to Boot Camp we cover all levels of fitness and intensity! Fitness classes are free to members unless otherwise noted. If you are not a member yet but would like to try out classes you can purchase a day pass at the front desk. Get into the Y and find a class that you will love today!

 

Individuals must be 12 years of age of older to utilize the track, aerobic room, cardio room, and/or weight room.

GETTING STARTED

THE STARTING LINE PROGRAM

WELLNESS CENTER ORIENTATION

 

This is a 12 week basic program that will help new and current members begin their exercise journey. This program is FREE with your membership. The program is designed for anyone that is new to exercise, or has not participated in an exercise program for a number of years and are looking to begin again. Participants have four, one on one appointments with a trained Starting Line coach over a 12 week period. Together, the participant and coach will fit the basic, pre-designed workout program to meet everyone's needs and abilities. Participants exercise at their own convenience. The program includes cardiovascular equipment orientation, resistance training, educational information, feedback and encouragement. Those that complete the 12 week program receive a "Starting Line" t-shirt. This is FREE with your membership (value $250).

WEIGHT ROOM ORIENTATION

 You have the option of setting up an appointment for a FREE Weight Room Orientation in our large weight room. Stop by the desk in the cardio room to make your appointment.

 

 

The Wellness Center is open to members ages 12 and older who have completed a Wellness Center Orientation or the Starting Line Program. Orientations are strongly recommended if you are new to the equipment and can be scheduled at various times in the cardio room. The 12 week Starting Line Program is optional and appointments are made at the front desk. A Wellness Center Orientation will introduce you to each piece of Nautilus equipment, Cardio equipment, guidelines, reservation policies and proper cleaning of equipment.

KICKSTART ORIENTATION PROGRAM

The KickStart Orientation Program is a pre-designed, flexible, basic exercise program that is free and available to Chippewa Valley Family YMCA members ages 12 to 15 years old.  The goal of the program is to guide our YMCA Youth members in becoming familiar and comfortable with the exercise equipment and the weight room available at the YMCA.  Individual and group sessions are available. This orientation is FREE with your YMCA Membership.

ACTIVE OLDER ADULTS (AOA) 

 

SilverSneaker Classic

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

Have fun and more to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

 

 

 

BARRE 

 

Barre Class

This unique, high energy/no-impact barre based class will create a lean, well-defined flexible body. Open to all levels and combines elements of yoga, pilates, ballet barres and light free weights to isometrically sculpt your body.

 

BOOT CAMPS

 

Boot Camp Class

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

Military type workouts including plyometric, jumping, strength training, circuits, stations, sprints, stairs, jump ropes, etc. Indoors and outdoors when weather permits. Meet in the aerobic room. This class is geared towards the more conditioned exerciser.

 

Summer Boot Camp

(ADDITIONAL FEE LISTED BELOW)

This program runs June and July totaling 6 weeks. 5:45-6:45 am

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings.

Basic Fitness

Basic low impact class designed especially for someone that has not participated in fitness classes before. Includes various basic aerobic exercise and/or strength and flexibilty training.

Early Bird Fitness

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

This class is designed to enhance all aspects of fitness without choreography. Volleyball on Fridays. Class meets on the walk/run track. The cardio portion takes place outdoors during the summer.

 

Step Mix

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

Step class mixed with a series of various strength and cardio options... or all step aerobics. This is a great class for everyone!

 

Cardio Strength Mix & Variety Training
(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

CORE 

 

Core Conditioning

The core is the body's center of strength and balance. Regular conditioning of the core muscles is vital for preventing injuries and correcting posture. The focus will be on strengthening your abdominal, oblique and lower back muscles.

 
 

CYCLING 

 

Group Cycling

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

The group cycling class is a high intensity cardiovascular workout performed to music on stationary bikes. An instructor leads the class through a variety of drills that simulate the different terrains one encounters on an outdoor bike ride. Easy to follow and can be modified for beginners.

 

Cycle & Strength Mix

Combining a group cycling class with a strength workout.

INSANITY

 

Insanity

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

No equipment or weights needed. You perform long bursts of maxium intensity exercises with short periods of rest.

 
 

H.I.I.T

 

H.I.I.T (High Intensity Interval Training)

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

Burn the maximum amount of calories in a minimum amount of time with short periods of all-out work followed by short periods of active rest to make the body work harder than during steady-state cardio.

STRENGTH

 

Strength Class

Build muscle strength and endurance with a multi dimensional full body strength workout. Use weights, bands, fit balls, bosu balls, and barbells to increase metabolism while challenging your core strength. It is a great way to add variety to your strength routine!

 

Strength & Stability

Strength class with an emphasis on core and balance.

 

YOGA

Gentle Yoga/SilverSneaker Yoga

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

A beginner series of linking breath to movement focusing on basic postures, sun salutations, alignments and core techniques. Chairs are optional for balance.

 

Yoga

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

Discover yourself from the inside out... improve balance, strength, muscle tone and flexibility through the practice of traditional postures and simple breathing techniques which have been proven to reduce stress and increase energy levels in people of all ages. 

Sculpt Yoga

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

This class blends power flow yoga with resistance training. It offers the discipline of a yoga pracitce and intensity option similar to a challenging fitness class.

Restorative Yoga

(INCLUDED IN MEMBERSHIP)

Step away from the frenetic activity of daily life and go inward. Restorative Yoga will give you a sense of peace and calm. This type of yoga class practices with less poses but the poses are held longer from complete relaxation. Blocks, straps and bolsters are provided. Please bring your own blanket or large towel. 

 

One-on-One and Small Group Yoga Personal Training

Have you ever wondered about yoga and the benefits it can bring into your life? Are you new to yoga, not comfortable in a large group/class setting or even recovering from an injury? Work with an instructor 1-on-1, or in a small group, to take your yoga practice to the next level.

A fitness party that fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout that will blow you away!

 

MASSAGE

Rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit through massage therapy. Massage therapy promotes relaxation, alleviates stress and energizes your senses. It can also relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation and address your health concerns. Massage therapy services are offered at the Chippewa Valley Family YMCA by Massage Therapists who are ceritifed and licensed by the State of Wisconsin. Each Therapist has advanced experience and technical skills that enhance your massage experience.
Massage Therapy is now offered Monday-Saturday by appointment only.
