Whether it’s learning to swing dance or write a memoir, the Y can give you the outlet you’ve always wanted to pursue your hobbies and expand your horizons.
Special EventsSupport the Troops Drive The YMCA also offers a chance to get involved with and help out in the community. The Support the Troops Drive organizes donations and care packages for troops currently serving overseas.
PROGRAMS2nd Monday Writers Have you ever thought about writing a memoir, a poem, an article or even a letter to the editor? The Chippewa YMCA in conjunction with John R. Thurston, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at UWEC, is offering a writers group to help anyone learn to express themselves more clearly and confidently. The group will meet once a month for four months. Class includes handouts and refreshments, Contact Linda at 723-2201.
Coffee Break Join other YMCA users for a FREE brunch once a month by the pool windows. It’s a chance to sit down for a bite to eat and visit with fellow Y users. The coffee and treats are on us. Stay awhile and make a new friend. Questions, call Linda at 723-2201.
Stampin’ & Such Do you stamp (rubber stamp that is) or want to learn? Make cards, decorate bags & boxes, notebooks, bookmarks and more. Each class will include 3-4 projects. Join us for fun and fellowship. Are you a beginner or an experienced stamper? All skill levels are welcome! You must register in advance so we have enough supplies for all. This class is for adults and teens.
Adult Tap Dance This class is for the beginner or the intermediate dance level. Tap shoes are optional. Join us for some fun and fitness as you learn dance steps. Class is taught by local Dance Instructor, Lou Ann Wischnewski.
Winter Enrollment Must have attended the fall class, be an experienced dancer or get approval from the instructor.
RED CROSS CLASSESCPR Classes We offer CPR for the professional Rescuer, AED, Fist Aid as well as Community CPR/Lay Responder CPR. Review classes are offered also. Check with Linda Marinello for the right class to fit your needs. |
