Youth & Teens

If your kids are looking to try something new and fun and exciting the Chippewa Valley Family YMCA is for you. We offer a little bit of everything to match your kids’ many interests. Our messy-fun arts and crafts classes, beginner dance lessons and action-packed sports programs will guarantee your kids have a great time while staying active, healthy and safe.    

Teen Center

Come and join your friends for some fun and exercise with the addition of new interactive technology. Challenge your friends to a race on a Gamebike or a dance-off on the Pump It Up Dance Arcade. Or you can launch yourself into the interactive virtual world of the Trazer reaction trainer or golf a round on the Wii console.

Traditional fun is also available with a pool table, foosball, air hockey, Xbox and TV. Open to families and youth 8-19 years of age. Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult.

Group Outings at the YMCA

The Chippewa Valley Family YMCA is also a great place to plan your next group outing. Use the YMCA for your Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts or Church Youth Group activities. We’ll even stay open after-hours if you’re planning a lock-in. Use the facilities with Y supervision and lifeguards. Arrangements can be made for other types of parties too.

Programs

Exploring Ballet A fun introductory pre-ballet class for ages 2 ½ to 5. Children will develop coordination, balance, poise, and rhythm awareness while also exploring creative movement.

Tie-Dye Bring your own t-shirt, socks or scarf to tie-dye. We’ll have the dye and the rubber bands or string to tie it all. You decide what pattern you’d like to achieve and we’ll go from there. We will get messy! Advanced registration is required to have all the supplies on hand. Age 6-12 years.

Bird Feeders & Bird Seed Cookies You will build a bird house for our feather friends. We’ll supply the materials and tell you what tools to bring. We’ll also make some cookies for the birds too. Creativity and fun are part of this program. Ages 6-12 years.

Candle Making Come join us in making candles. It only takes a little time to create your own unique candle. Advanced registration required to have enough supplies on hand. Ages 6-12 years.

Babysitting Class – Red Cross This course is for the person who wants to know more about the care of babies and children, as well as first aid & safety. Learn to change diapers, feed and hold babies and how to interact & play with small children. Watch a video and practice skills. Book included. Ages 11 years and older.
